It can be a bit scary starting something new. All our ladies have experienced walking through the door for the first time, here are some of the questions they had that may help it seem less scary.

I haven’t exercised for ages, will I be able to do it?
We specialise in helping ladies who are size 16 and larger and the majority have not exercised in quite some time. Many have never exercised before. As it is semi-private personal training with only 4 ladies in a session we are able to tailor each session to each client. We can have 4 different levels going on in the same session without any difficulty. The important part is each client is given a workout that is designed just for them.

What if I can't do things the other ladies can ? Will I hold the others back?
Not at all. Everyone works to their own pace and if you need to rest, you rest. If you want to be pushed further we push. Every lady works at her own pace for the whole session. In fact if we think you are pushing yourself too much we will ask you to stop. Its all about steady progress.

Is the diet really strict?
One thing we dont do at B&A is go hungry! We eat natural food to help nourish and fill the body. Meals such as Shepherd's Pie, Curry, Casserole, Chilli, stir fry, Bolognese ensure we have tasty meals that fill us up and provide the fuel and nutrients our bodies need. Our aim is to cook from scratch and have as little processed food as possible. We ask clients to follow this plan 80% of the time allowing some leeway for treats each week.

Can I have alcohol?
We dont set rules. We give you our food plan and then you choose how much you wish to follow it. Some ladies follow it 100% some follow it 80%. Some ladies choose to use their 20% treats for a glass of wine at the weekends, and if it helps them stick to it during the week then no problem.

What is key is accepting responsibility. Alcohol every week will slow down your results (sorry but its just the way it is!) If you are ok with that then yes you can have alcohol.

I have tried every other diet out there, why will this one work?
The problem with many diets is we feel deprived and often are left hungry. We focus on what you can have and what will get you closer to your goals. This is a plan that you can follow forever as no food is banned, everything is fine in moderation. By no longer restricting ourselves we help lessen the cravings. Its about making small enjoyable changes that become life long habits.

I have an ongoing injury, can I still join?
Because we have such small classes and each client has their own workout it is possible to tailor training sessions around previous injuries. We are always happy to chat to potential clients to hear more about your needs and see if we can help.

What does a session consist of?
Every session is run by a fully qualified personal trainer, they take charge and support you for the full session. We start with a group warm up and once ready each lady works to her sheet. We use a variety of equipment - barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells as well as just bodyweight exercises.

Every exercise is fully explained and demonstrated and support given until you are happy with your technique.

We work in short bursts, challenging the body but also ensuring time for rest and muscle recovery.

The sessions are designed to challenge each lady but we also have a good gossip and giggle as we are doing it. There is no shouting, punishing, crying, collapsing or sick! We just are not that kind of place.

Our aim to have you leave feeling proud of what you have done and already looking forward to your next session.

What do I need to bring to a session?
You can come in your gym gear or we have a changing room (with shower) Gym gear is whatever you feel comfortable in - leggins, tracksuit, vest or t-shirt as well as your trainers. We arent really a cropped top and hot pants kind of place!!

We provide water and towels but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

What is the maximum number of people per session?
4 although you may turn up and no one else may be booked in and you may bag yourself a one on one PT session!

How do I book my sessions? Do I have to have a set time each week?
We have an online booking system that allocates you your sessions and you can book to suit your diary. You can mix and match your sessions and certainly do not need to stick to the same times each week.

You can book up to 30 days in advance so you can get really organised. You can cancel up to 24 hours before if you need to reschedule.

What happens after my initial 28 day trial?
Around week 3 of your trial a member of the team will get in touch to chat about how you are getting on. We will then ask if you would like to stay on with us and become a fully fledged member.

Some ladies choose to take the 28 days as a kick start and move on. But the majority do become members. Once a member payment is made on 1st of each month and sessions are allocated on a monthly basis. You can then stay with us as long as you like. When you wish to move on 30 day cancellation notice is required.
