Let’s face it, life is far too be short to be stuck on a diet that leaves you fed up, missing out and hungry.
After many years in the health and fitness industry I firmly believe
HEALTHY SHOULD NEVER MEAN HUNGRY
I see so many ladies get started on a strict new diet, and yeah at first it is great. The determination is there, they may see some quick results and for a short while it is do-able.
But a few days in or a week later things have got tough. The cravings have set in, results have maybe slowed down and all we can think about is what we are depriving ourselves of.
The problem is diets are designed to fail.
Yep, you read that right…….DIETS ARE DESIGNED TO FAIL.
Why? Well as with many things it all comes down to money. The diet industry is a £20 million industry in the UK alone. You suddenly succeed, then you wont need to spend anymore money on the latest fad.
Ultimately most diets are just too extreme and require far to many rules and restrictions.
Add to that the fact that most people think this is exactly how it should be in order to see success then we have got a very hard slog ahead of us if we carry on this way.
It doesn’t have to be this way
We do not need to cut out entire food groups, there is no such thing as ‘good food’ or ‘bad food’ and we certainly don’t need to live on lettuce leaves in order to see success.
It’s time to stop the craziness and find a more simple way that not only gets results but is so manageable that you can keep these results.
Ready to end the battle?
There are 3 main food groups in a healthy meal plan
Carbohydrates, Protein and fats
There have been many diets over the years that have recommended limiting a food group or even trying to remove it altogether.
There is a massive problem with this – our bodies NEED all 3 to function effectively long term.
Yeah you can manage for short periods without certain foods, but it gets very difficult if we expect to do it for a longer period of time…….. cue cravings!
We dont need to remove any food groups form our meal plan – fact.
However, there is one thing that if we remove it we will benefut immensely, can you guess what it is???????
There is not one part of us that NEEDS this in our diet. It is a treat or a luxury or an extra but it is not a necessity.
Now I am not saying this to judge, trust me, no one enjoys a bag of Doritos more than me! But I am just sharing the facts – remove the processed food and just watch the results come flying in.
But here is the thing………
There are very few people in this world who can manage to remove all processed food from their diets for ever. Those that do tend to be fitness models, bodybuilding competitors, heck even athletes have some treats.
So unless you are a fitness model or a body building competitor you may want to read on

- Are you looking forward to it?
- Did you enjoy it?
- Did you feel good afterwards?
Now if you can answer YES to all 3 of those questions 80% of the time you have a nutrition plan that will not only get you results but will also be enjoyable and therefore sustainable long term – winner!
This plan then allows for guilt free treats.
-Want a take away at the weekend then have one, but then dont write off the whole weekend.
-Invited out for a meal with the family? Go and have starter, main and pudding and make sure you enjoy every little bit, but back on the plan the next day.
-Girls night on the town? Fab, enjoy yourself but make sure you have the meals for the next day all sorted.
We do have to make changes if we want to see changes in our weight and body shape. But they dont have to be changes that make us miserable and turn us in to hermits!
Life is all about balance. Use the 3 questions and create a plan that works for you and stop the battle in your head of ‘should’ and ‘shouldnt’
Food should be fun, its time to start enjoying it again
