One of the most disheartening things that may happen is when you put all your effort in to a workout plan and don’t see ANY changes.
You eat what you think you should, workout loads, give up your social life and still don’t see the results you want.
Gutted.
This happens more often than not as there is so much info out there with regards to exercise that it can be totally confusing and you aren’t totally sure what to do for the best, so you do what you think is best.
Maybe it is what has worked for your friend, or what you saw in a magazine or maybe you train with your partner or just join in a group class.
And you know what, I cant fault you. I have total admiration for anyone who gets up and gets moving.
But everyone is different. Every body is different and every person has different goals – so there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
Many believe – The more effort you put in the more results you get out.
I can see where this idea comes from and used to believe it myself
But there is a lot to be said for training smarter not harder.
After many years in the industry and helping 100s of ladies I have found there is one way that does work better that any other if you want a leaner and more toned body.
Weight Training
To get more toned we need to tear muscle fibres. This kicks the body in to repair mode and being unbelievably clever the body then mends BIGGER so that the muscle tears don’t happen again.
So what do we do?
We use bigger weights and keep the process going.
And the best bit? The whole time the muscle is repairing you are burning calories and then the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism.
It’s a win-win-win
But, and there is a big BUT here
Weight training is brill but you have to make sure
-You are taught to do the exercises properly, so you are safe
-You use the right weight, right reps and right rest periods for you and your ability and goals
-You have the correct progression/plan in place to keep results coming
Weight training is fantastic and I love seeing the results it brings our ladies.
Ladies who lift really are the leanest, fittest and strongest #girlpower
