I’m a bugger for having loads (and I mean loads) of notebooks, you know the pretty kind that you cant resist, then never want to use cos they are so nice? I do use some and I found one the other day that reminded me of a really simple technique to help make each day a little happier.
Make a list of 20 things that make you happy, now these don’t have to be big things, they don’t even need to cost anything …. enjoy a cup of tea in the garden, take 10 minutes to read, have a bubble bath…….sometimes the simple things are the most enjoyable.
You then make sure you do at least one of them every day.
Here are a few more ideas for your list
1) Watch your favourite film.
2) Dance round your kitchen
3) enjoy a face mask
4) Go to the theatre
5) Chat to friends
6) Get manicure/massage/pedicure
7) Zumba class
8) Join a choir
9) Look after an animal
10) visit the seaside
Everyone’s list will be different and special to them.
The thing is it is all too easy for life to take over and we can spend so long just keeping on top of things and keeping everyone else happy we can forget to take care of ourselves.
So my challenge, should you choose to accept……create your Happiness List, 20 things that make you smile and make sure you do at least one thing off the list every day
